About me:

Hello! I’m Samantha Rakhmatov, an artist and illustrator in the Chicago-land area.

I've been drawing since I was a little kid and still enjoy the tactile feeling of working traditionally far more than working digitally. (Though, I can do both). I am a traditional artist by heart, mainly working in watercolor paint and ink. Recently, I rediscovered my love for colored pencils and markers, so now I do a little bit of everything. I love being able to create a one-of-a-kind piece that you can hold in your hands once it's complete.

Drawing brings me endless happiness and entertainment; I share my art in hopes that it brings the same to others. I also enjoy sharing what I’ve learned over the years to inspire others to put in the time to grow as artists themselves and discover the freedom that comes with a creative outlet.

As an illustrator, I'm motivated by the collaborative process and the pleasure of working with others to create something new together. It's always a great feeling when I can help make someone’s vision become a reality.
